Scholarships

Disability Services awards several scholarships to students. To be eligible, applicants must provide documentation of a disability to Disability Services, have status as a degree-seeking student who has attended CU-Boulder for at least one year, and submit a Scholarship Application (PDF)

Robert Wilkerson Scholarship

Four scholarships, for $500 per person, are available annually to students who have physical or sensory disabilities (i.e., blindness, deafness, speech impairments, spinal cord injuries, amputations, etc.). A maximum of two awards are granted per student.
Selection criteria:

  • Evidence of industrious and ambitious characteristics with no record of student misconduct, via a letter from an individual who knows the applicant well 
  • Minimum CU-Boulder cumulative GPA of 2.3
  • Demonstrated financial need

Terri Bodhaine Memorial Scholarship
Two individual scholarships, for $300 each, awarded annually to students with disabilities. A maximum of two awards are granted per student.
Selection criteria:

  • Priority is given to students registered with Disability Services who have not received previous DS scholarships
  • Minimum CU-Boulder cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Demonstrated financial need

Timothy Grice Memorial Scholarship

Up to four scholarships, for $500 per person, awarded annually to promising intellectually gifted students with socio-emotional needs. A maximum of two awards are granted per student.
Selection criteria:

  • Record of formal test scores demonstrating that the student is intellectually gifted (ACT, SAT, WAIS, etc.)
  • Evidence of socio-emotional needs
  • Evidence of industrious and ambitious characteristics with no record of student misconduct, via a letter from an individual who knows the applicant well
  • Minimum CU-Boulder cumulative GPA of 2.3
  • Demonstrated financial need

Tyler J. Stevenson Memorial Scholarship
Up to three individual merit-based scholarships, ($500 Fall and $500 Spring) awarded annually to students with epilepsy
Selection criteria:

  • Personal statement about overcoming challenges, academic, career and life goals, and financial need, if applicable
  • Letter of recommendation /support
  • Minimum CU-Boulder cumulative GPA of 2.2

Scholarship for Disability Assessment
Maximum $300 award toward the cost of a diagnostic evaluation for qualifying CU-Boulder students. Requires a completed screening appointment with a Disability Access Coordinator or documentation on file.
Selection criteria:

  • Status as an undergraduate
  • Demonstrated need for assessment
  • Demonstrated financial need

The Zarrow Family Scholarship is a $5,000 a year, renewable scholarship with the following criteria.
-          Awarded to a Leeds School of Business undergraduate student with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act
-          Scholarship renewable annually for original recipient pending academic eligibility
There is only one online application to fill out at  http://leeds.ly/scholarshipsapply to be eligible for all Leeds scholarships, including the Zarrow.

The Anne Ford and Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarships – $10,000 and $2,500 scholarships awarded to graduating seniors with learning disabilities.
 
Rise Scholarship Foundation – $2,500 scholarship awarded to high school seniors with disabilities.
 
P. Buckley Moss Society Scholarships – numerous scholarships for students with disabilities.
 
Shire ADHD Scholarship­ – $2,500 scholarship awarded to high school seniors with disabilities
